I had my interview with an ’08 alum in his office. Originally in our email communications he had said the interview should run about 45 minutes, but it ended up lasting an hour. He did a great job of making it feel more like a conversation and not a formal interview. Here are the questions (may not be the right order):
.What led you to your first job?
.What made you change careers? — then some follow-ups based on my response
.Why did you decide to switch into the field that you chose?
.Tell me about what’s challenging in your current role — then follow-ups based on my response (tell me about factors that go into XX calculation, or what are potential drivers that would impact a forecast?)
.What are your plans after you get your MBA?
.Are you good with numbers?
.Why Kellogg (besides that it has a strong marketing program)?
.Why MBA vs. just keep working?
.What would you contribute to Kellogg?
.Anything that may be considered a weakness in your application you would like to explain or expand on?
.Questions for me?
Advice I got from colleagues who are Kellogg Alumni was to be confident and positive, and to be yourself.Good luck!
