I have already encouraged those I work with or have met in the past several years that are interested in furthering their education. Indiana University Southeast exceeded all of my expectations as a quality program.
They strongly encouraged student participation where I learned the most. Peers in other industries brought many angles to the classroom topics that I found most useful.
Strengths were field experience and overall subject knowledge. Some instructors, just a few, seemed to not be at the top, but were still good instructors.作者: s 时间: 2010-9-28 16:44
I work with several people who went to different programs in the area. While I do feel like I had a few classes where I had to study a little more than they did, I feel like the quality of education I received overall was much better. Also, you simply cannot beat the tuition rates for the quality of the MBA.
The professors were very helpful and easily accessible. In addition to this, the electives offered fit into my overall career plan. The program at IU Southeast was exactly what I needed to move to my next step.作者: s 时间: 2010-9-28 16:44
Their strengths include their ability to relate information to each students' profession individually as well as their own personal experience in industry. The only real weakness is that not all professors are full faculty members.
I chose Indiana University Southeast because of the location, cost, and association with Indiana University Bloomington (where I attended for Undergrad). I looked at University of Louisville and Bellermine University, but could not justify the expense. If I was going to spend the money on their PT programs, I might as well go full time to a better school (IU, Chicago, etc.)作者: s 时间: 2010-9-28 16:45
IU Southeast provides a great experience for the PT MBA student. Classes are engaging, and the instructors are flexible with your current work requirements.
Very few weaknesses. One instructor was only interested in teaching from the book, and not engaging class members. That was only one class. Most all instructors are very skilled in their areas of instruction. Would not complain about the instructors much.作者: s 时间: 2010-9-28 16:45
The IUS program exceeded my expectations in a number of ways. The faculty was well-qualified with respect to their level of expertise, knowledge, and experience in various subject areas. The technological resources and access to information/databases for research purposes was a significant benefit. Additionally, class scheduling was flexible and was easily adapted to my work schedule.
A wider variety of class offerings (especially electives) not taught in tandem with undergraduate classes. Electives taught with graduate students and undergraduate students were not taught to the level expected for educating at a graduate level.作者: s 时间: 2010-9-28 16:45
Setting a minimum level of work experience (for example 5 years full-time work experience) would improve the experience at IUS.
I would like the networking events to become more regular and would like them to occur at more convenient hours (such as Saturday afternoons or weekday evenings). Another issue is that the tuition for IUS is roughly a third to one half that of the other two local programs, which sends a negative quality signal. Finally, the school offers a Master of Science in Strategic Finance (MSSF) degree that I had considered, but the extra time and expense did not seem worthwhile when even local HR recruiters and industry professionals were unaware of what the program entailed.
More electives with more interesting topics. Use of smartboards and tablet pc's could integrate more technology into the discussions.
