This school is famous for its undergraduate school.
And the best coll. in its undergraduate school is engineering and business.
It's the same level as boston coll., tufts, w&m, even no worse than Brown for undergraduate. And the tuition fee is very dear, it'about 40k/year.
The Greek life in this school is crazy. a lot of american coll with freak Greek lifes r state university like PSU SUNY UWisconsin etc, however in this school those children's parent paid so much money still trading for beer and party.
The acedmic of its b-school is not good, and there's a lot of professors graduating from some 2-tired Phd programs. If u wanna got a job as a faculty somewhere,it's not a good choice.
And for job hunting, there's a lot of chances for undergraduate students. no matter big 4 or i-bank, they all target this school as their key schools. especially those big 4 firms heavily recruit a lot of ppl.
for international student, the stiuation is a little different. Because u need visa, you need to polish ur english esp for finance major.

Lehigh Career Fair(转)
周中饶有兴致地参加了学校的career fair，和中国招聘会完全不同的风格的说，无论公司大小，都在一个体育场里井井有条摆设着自己的展台，每个展台上有相关公司人员可以进行咨询、收简历，还有丰厚的小礼品，感觉就像摆柜台做marketing, 向学生推销自己。大大小小的公司是多，超过百家，大部分我都不认识，而且大都target on undergraduate,谁叫lehigh的本科牛呢。大约只有30多家target on graduate, finance相关的可能不到10家左右了。
在fair上也没做啥，主要目的倒不是为了full-time job，而是为了information about summer internship, 得到的回答都是go to the website。随之就变成了gift-oriental, 看哪家礼品好就冲向哪，最后拿了水杯、扑克、小球、荧光笔。。。收获颇丰。。。拿的都不好意思了，感觉影响老差的，按照一位学姐的话就是: 这样做搞得公司认为你是对礼品感兴趣，而不是对公司感兴趣，就会产生副作用。

honestly, GWU 在老美口中几乎没听过。 Lehigh研究生弱，本科生很强，一个酗酒的学校。
People come from the west coast of US may not heard GW, but GW is quite well known in the east side,
especially DC, Virginia, NYC. GW has a great reputation in law, politics and international affair, and it's
location is probably the best in US. That's why GW is the most expensive school in the States. In DC,
Georgetown is the best, GW is the second. Lehigh is also the second best school in Pennsylvania, second

不过lehigh无论是商学院还是会计专业都没有排名。
但是就业率又奇高，虽然国际学生都差不多，不过84.6%的就业率还是很诱惑，而且地理位置似乎不错。

Lehigh's accounting is very (Extremly good, I am sure) good and enjoys a very high reputation in US and among these local businessman. The PWC even donated a large computer room for lehigh's CBE. The businessweek gives it NO.1 in Accounting Ranks for many years.
However, this reputation is for the Undergraduate. Grad is not as good as Under.
Secondly, nowadays, The big Four are all not willing to give sponsorship to international student. In other words, Internation students is not likely to get an offer from the Big Four in US after graduation.
Summary: If you have other choices, please do not choose accounting (Nor MFE, Nor MSF), If you have to choose accounting, Lehigh is one of the best school you can consider. If you choose other school's accounting master program, the result after graduate maybe worse.
Just an opinion.

I get to know several friends there (Prof and students), the placement for international students is significantly worse than what you might expect.
maybe it's good, but I still can't tell why it's good. For the newsweek's No.1 ranking, I can not find the original link either.
And another very strange thing is that..that program seems suddenly not friendly to Chinese students anymore...one student told me it's because of the program director. I don't have further information to confirm that...

我去年年初被lehigh 的 M.S Analytical Finance 录取，他们不断要求上语言课，尽管我的寄托成绩都不差。每个中国的人的admission上都有那样的字眼，“你的英语成绩太差了，你需要上英语课还要考speak test，考不好还要继续上。。。”。一来就会给你一个speak test 和一个writing test。大多数人都会不过。然后会让你上全部的step－up，一千多美金一门，一共是3－4门。如果你强烈反对，就让你上credit的课（便宜些，跟你所选的专业课一样贵），再加上ESL lab（200美金，10个tutoring appointment）。如果你不上就会让你退学，理由是你违反了admission的条款，你将会out of status of immigration(那个语言机构的director是学校办签证的老公）。我第二学期上了一个月后被警告：不选他们的ESL lab 就的退学。由于意气用事，我强烈表示不会选课，结果被退学了，其实我第一学期已经选了他们的credit class。本来我是可以转到其他系的，结果他们还不让转，说已经不承认我是他们的学生了。现在我的重新申请其他的系。这个program是刚办的，我是第一个中国人，也是第一批入学的。当时入学的一共是6个人。我的感觉，他们只是为了挣钱。从开学到最后，这个系没有给学生发一个邮件，没有组织一个活动。除了上课，什么都没发生。整个这个business and economics college 的中国学生，多多少少都收到了语言课的影响。他们让你选课，你是没有任何选择的。
那些课不是本学校英语系开了，而是由一个叫做ESL的机构开的，老师水平很一般。
There is another Chinese guy studying in thie program and he
finished step-up classesa and now is continue working on his English
classes and speaking test. He called me one week ago and said he
decided to give it up his grogram. I said no. If you cannot pass the
speak test and writing test, you are conditional student which means
they has reason to ask you to take any classes. The classes in this
program are quantitive focused. If you didnot learn Finance in the
China, you have to take Undergraduate classes which has the same
tuition fee as graduate course. Some of the classes are pure math
class. These courses are just the condense of their PHD of financial
Engineering program offered by Industrial and system Engineering
department. Because the classes are offered by other department, you
may do not know who are in the same department with you and who can
work with you. They do not care of students in this program not only
Chinese but all. The only time they will contact you is to take their
English classes. Students are few in this program so they donot
organise any activity for student. This is the second year of
recuiting students, nobody knows this program. I didnot hear company
come for graduate student, but many companys come for undergraduate
students. That is all I can give you. Good Luck!

Thank you for your email. The M.S. in Analytical Finance program began in the fall 2004 semester and graduated its first class of 3 students in September 2005. Salary information is available for one out of the three. The program's second class of ten students, formed in September 2005, will be finishing this September at which time we would have a better representation of companies and salaries for you.
For fall 2005 entry, Lehigh received 28 applications, offered admission to 24 and 10 matriculated. The program accepts both GMAT and GRE scores. Averages for each were:

International students must carry a minimum of 9 credit hours per term which is the reason the I-20 is 24 months. The program may be completed in one year by registering for additional credit hours.
