答案是A，这个没有问题，但是问题在于OG解释C：
C The participial growing might refer to the 32 species; the introduction of being is unnecessarily wordy and adds nothing in terms of meaning. 为什么说being在这里是多余的呢，不是固定短语be famous for吗，想了好久都想不通啊，苦恼ing。。。。

建议楼主从三个方面去考虑这题：

1.我上XDF时，XDF的老师都说一般出现being，除非是being+done（即被动语态），其它一般都是错的。但这种方法不太推荐，因为太绝对了，有很多例外，除非现场考试没时间了实在没办法才这么排除吧；

2.从语法的角度来说，一般being+adj. 中being都可以省略掉，结果还不影响后面的adj.的表达的。但坦白说，别太死守语法，还是从句意本身出发才是王道。

3.也是OG的解释，后面从句如果是growing，则变成修饰主语32 species了。从句意理解就会发现不对了。至于C里的being即使看上去好像和growing是平行的，但想想它的意思你也就发觉说不通了。

顺便跪问楼上nn，按照解释的说法，这句是不是就对了：

in fact include the animal known as the killer whale, (an animal) famous for its

aggressive hunting pods.
我在想独立主格。
如果不加an animal这句有没有歧义乜？

貌似独立主格一定要有名词或者代词充当类似主语的成分吧。除非是there be或者是it being句

我觉得是有歧义的。
坦白说，我不太记得独立主格是什么，但如果什么都不加，会产生歧义。famous后面的内容可以修饰32 species,an animal和killer whale。即使GMAT会推崇就近修饰，但依然不排除修饰其他对象的可能。
所以这个an animal不能省。或是加个which is。
然而加an animal和which is 会使后面的从句的修饰对象不同，一个是an animal，一个是killer whale。一般选项都不会同时出现两个的。
BTW,我不是NN，纯做探讨。我一战失利，还要二战呢，呵呵...

lz误会了它说的多余的意思了，它只是说这么表达比较累赘而不是说BE动词或者其变形多余。BE动词是需要的。所以你的BE FAMOUS FOR固定搭配没有错。只是首先除了PARALLEL，此题还靠考从句的表达。如果用--ING,那么修饰的是什么就很模糊，而用WHICH，就清晰通畅的多。WHICH是非限定性定语从句的标志，但一般来说是就近。

我也在做OG,发现GMAC对-ING这种形式的表达很有意见，不止一题说--ING虽然在语法上没有问题，但是显得太WORDY，而出的题往往也是有这类毛病。这或许也是一种倾向。
