Rice has the best MBA program in the Southern US due to the academic prestige of Rice University, location in Houston and the access to major corporations, challenging curriculum, small class sizes, access to faculty, commitment of administration and diversity of students - Finance

The Rice MBA is a young program - with tremendous opportunity, at a premier global research university, in one of the most entrepreneurial cities in the world - Houston, TX. -- Investment Banking
作者: s    时间: 2010-8-30 21:36

Our Action Learning Program (ALP) is a huge draw to the program and gives one an opportunity to begin to apply what is learned during the first semester on a real assignment at a real company. The entreprenuership requirement should be a must at all B-schools and plants the seed to business ownership. - Finance

With Houston being the global energy capital, center of NASA, home to the world-class Texas Medical Center and nanotech/biotech research - yet, still one of the most affordable places to live in terms of quality of life -- Rice is at the center of providing business leadership in its own backyard.

The program has its good and bad points. The good is the reputation of the undergraduate programs. This brings in many recruiters from prestigious organizations. The bad is the work load. There is simply way too much work. It is like drinking from a firehose. It makes it difficult to fully digest what is being taught to you. Many of the assignments are work intensive, but provide little learning. - Finance

If you want to change careers and move into finance from Operations, Rice is a great place to do it. Plus being around so many chemical companies makes finding a job fairly easy - even for guys with lots of experience who are changing careers. - Finance

I would recommend Rice to anyone looking for a smaller program. You get to know the entire class, the teachers, and the program office. Rice is a great school, in a great city brimming with opportunity. It opened doors for me that I didn't know how to open . Given that I am not from Houston, but plan on making my career here - no other school would have fit my bill. -- Finance

Lots of new professors at the time I came in. Friction between administration and school leadership. Lots of competition between the students.--Finance
