为什么选D呢？为什么是and的并列关系而不是but的转折关系？那怎么才能从原句中看出是并列关系呢？真是迷茫ING

Dozens of 和many数量上是一个概念lots of, 且devoted to local history or various ethic groups和are open for exploration on summer weekends也不是对立转折的两方面，所以平行，后者进一步补充说明有关NewYork's museums的信息，这样理解更好些。

这个题目粗一看原文有although就很自然的选C了，但是仔细看看会发现2个单句的东西是不一样的，不是一个类型的。BUT引导的句子也要求对称的，要么是同1个东西，要么是同一类的。所以选D。
