在我的理解里, erosion, prehistoric glaciour movement 和 volcanic activity 应当是一个并列的结构,那么就不应当如E选项那样,
而且within reach of 和within reach for 貌似都是可以使用的短语,不知道有什么区别?
但是B的选项中AND后的内容这样安排也不合理,C就更有问题了,不知道在最后为什么要选E
求指教

我认为是，后面作者陈述原因说：
erosion, prehistoric glacier movement, and ancient, gold-bearing riverbeds thrust to the surface by volcanic activity 腐蚀，史前冰川运动，以及被火山运动反转的古代含金河床，这三个动作，将黄金带到了任何人都可以用铲子挖掘的地方。这里的thrust to 不作动词，而是过去分词修饰riverbeds，后面从句的动词时put。

前面 Prospecting for gold during the California gold rush was a relatively easy task，是一个完整句，后面解释原因。A,B直接排除，A里面because of 接了句子，B里面that后面的从句修饰了volcanic activity，改变句意，而且就像LZ说的，后面的and不平行。
C选项的错误和B类似。
D也一样，错在that。而且伴随状语putting gold有修饰歧义。然后D后面的since从句也没有谓语啦。
E最符合原文意思

A选项中because of 后面为名词并列，erosion, movement and riverbeds 但put的存在很奇怪，如果为动词则of后面存在了完整主谓结构，如果作为过去分词则gold多余排除A
BC选项中and作为并列结构的引导词，putting分词之前没有与之并列的结构；排除BC

within reach of为固定搭配，within reach for不对，排除AD

E选项为正确选项

其实我的理解是erosion, prehistoric glaciour movement and volcanic activity 共同thrust the ancient, gold-bearing riverbeds to the surface,希望是前三者并列,但是E没有这样,虽然A到D有错误,但是按我做题的思路,我首先就派出了不并列的选项

thrust to 不作动词，而是过去分词修饰riverbeds，后面从句的动词是put。

按LZ的理解，erosion, prehistoric glaciour movement and volcanic activity 共同thrust

the ancient, gold-bearing riverbeds to the surface, 那是什么东西 put gold literally

within reach of gold literally within reach of 呢？

PUT的内容是THRUST动作的结果,我的意思就是这个

LZ你选哪个。thrust 和put不可能同时都做同一句话的动词

A的意思是对的，虽然because of 不对，但是无论你选哪个都不能改变A的原意，A并没有把LZ说的那三者放在一起的意思。A的形式可以错，但是句子意思，强调重心永远不会错。

只能选E,看来语法也是选相对最好的答案了,并没有正确的答案 !
