127.Joan of Arc, a young Frenchwoman who claimed to be divinely inspired, turned the tide of English victories in her country by liberating thecity of Orléans and she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim histhrone.
(A) she persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne
(B) persuaded Charles VII of France in claiming his throne
(C) persuading that the throne be claimed by Charles VII of France
(D) persuaded Charles VII of France to claim his throne
(E) persuading that Charles VII of France should claim the throne

答案:D

问题:
1、为什么E不对:理解为by liberating ... and persuading...的并列
2、persuading后面可以直接用that吗?

谢谢高人指点!

菜鸟的一点小想法:

1、E:逻辑表达,主句不能任意改为从句。persuade本应和turn并列,by liberating...是turn句的状语从句,persuade如果和liberate并列,就从本来的主句动词变成了turn句中的从句内容,和原句逻辑意思不相符。

2、persuade that是不对的,可以用persude sb that....

谢谢LZ的解释,的确再看一遍提干,and she persuaded Charles VII……似乎是在暗示此从

句是与turned the tide of English……平行的。再次感谢!

补充一点 如果是理解为by liberating ... and persuading...的并列
那么
正确形式应该是          by liberating ... and by persuading     by不可以省
