我选ｃ为什么不对呢？因为split也可以作名词的．但答案选ｂ，左看右看都不像

C的split做名词那就少了of吧……

特指，the splitting apart of continents

split apart continents, apart,adv, so split is verb here

我也觉得B不对,因为SPLIT是可以做名词词性的,这里为什么要用splitting 呢,而且,怎么不能把splitting apart continents当成修饰the onset of ice ages的,因为在splitting apart continents还有一个时间状语从句80 million years ago, 如果要平衡,那么怎么单单splitting apart continents后有时间状语而其他都没有呢.从意思上讲的话,也还可以解释得过去啊.

我觉得是分别不出split是名词还是动词.或是b.the splitting apart of continents 去掉the,构杨伴随结果定语从句吧
