以下是解释：

(A) Abigail Adams or Dolly Madison ever had been结构中,had been省略结构无法还原, 也就是说had been无法承接she shattered进行省略

就是想问这个“had been无法承接she shattered进行省略”的意思是不是指she shattered是过去时

而had been是完成时所以不能进行承接也就是省略必须时态一致。或者还有其他的什么解释吗？请大家赐教啊

比较中be动词是无法承接实习动词shattered的，要用也得用had done.

其实是比较时助动词习惯补出但补出要根据前面的谓语补出,I play tennis better than Mary does.此时does是根据play补的,.而本题中,没有be动词出现所以补不出had been
