[1] Depending on… 和 dependent on… 均为合理的用法，因此这两者之间的区别并非本题的考点。
[2] 此句描述的为一个客观事实，且主句位于varies属于一般现在时，所以because引起的从句也以一
般现在时为佳，因此在时态上，BCD相较AE为佳。但除此之外，can/ be able to/ be capable of
的区别和优劣不是本题的考点。
且：both…and also以及both…as well as均错误
最后停在BC上面了，答案选C
我的问题是：我不觉得dependent on its size and also on climate and altitude有什么错误啊！
而且相对于C,B也有"且"的含义……
请指教……

我的思路：
because优于in that，排除AB。
D因为不必要用being done排除。
E中both...as well as错。
另外，个人认为depending比dependent好。因为doing表动作，强调在produce berries这件事上，他们“依靠...”而dependent表日常状态、自身属性，如：a dependent child（一个有依赖性的小孩），表示该小孩任何事情，任何时候都有依赖性。
