弱问一下, 如果R1申请的学校给了admission, 可以等R2的offer再决定么? 不
然如果据掉R1的offer, R2又一所学校也没有, 那不竹篮打水了?
1. Most likely no. The schools use R1 and R2 to balance their
student body too. It would be difficult to have everyone defer their
decision.
2. Yes.
那不是逼着我们要么都押在R1, 要么都押在R2, 太残酷了一点吧, 如果能把
心仪的学校分散在2个round能分散一下工作量和风险。
Lots of people spread the schools between the two rounds. Sometimes
you find out about R1 decisions before you have to submit your R2
application.
Come on yaoyao99, I give you an example, if one plan to apply HBS,
Columbia, Wharton and Chicago. (Let's assume he really want to get in
HBS or Wharton)
R1 HBS, Chicago, if the guy gets admission from Chicago, so he has to
reject it then apply for Wharton and Columbia for R2? Assumption here is
he does not have enough time to handle 4 schools together for R1 so he
has to apply in 2+2 fassion.
anyone has rejected top schools for R1? then bear the risk to apply
other schools(maybe the ones he is more intersted) for R2?
The risk here is if the guy get both rejected in R2, he looses
everything, including Chicago which gave him the admission. Sigh...
If he is interested more in the schools to be applied in R2 than
those in R1, why not applying the R2 schools in R1? Otherwise the
strategy sounds illogical.
看看学校的具体要求吧
一般情况下 不太可能
Well, such is life. You can't place your bets after you've seen all the cards. It's up to you to decide what you are willing to risk for the grant prize. Think of it as a good opportunity to sharpen your risk management, planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
Good luck!
