Freedman's survey showed that people living in the small towns and rural areas consider themselves (no happier than do people living )in big cities.

我觉得应该选D。但答案是A。应该是比较一些人觉得没有另一些人快乐，明显是ARE ，怎么是DO？这道题在MBA8中讨论过，不知是不是LZM的答案错，它的书中好几处错误。

请看另一题：
never before in the history of music have musical superstars been able to command (so extrodinary fees of the kind they do today.)
c;such extraodinary fees as they do today

按核心词原则，下面这题是COMMAND。所以我认为上面的题答案错。

我刚吃完饭回来。现提出我的看法：
1）LZM没错，最起码在此题中。你的中文理解是对的，但题中do是refer动词conside的。
2）第二题中的do不是指command而是have，你再看看。本题是倒装句。
3）第一题D中的living与前面的十分不平行。

第一题：

比较的HAPPY 的与否，而HAPPY 前应是系动词。如是CONSIDER，而成了他们认为自己不HAPPY比起PEOPLE IN BIG CITIES 认为，显然不通嘛。
第二题，HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COMMAND ***THAN ***DO ，HAVE 在这里是助动词，是你看错了。

对于动词用法，我们还有很多尚不知道的。LAM总结不能全信。1题用平行考虑更好。
2题 THE KIND 指代让人产生误解-----音乐还是费用。DO指代应该COMMAND。
