================================================

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
从网上看到的经验, OG要一遍一遍地看熟摸透. 所以现在网上下载的其他资料还没开始看, 正从头看OG里的题, 每道题的解释. 中间有难度的题就在网上找参考. 难题毕竟不多, 看过OG的解释之后就差不多了. 以后不钻牛角尖死抠难题了. 经常在网上看一些经验, 下载一些资料.
对比OG-77与OG-85,关于ongoing action
77. Though the term “graphic design” may suggest laying out corporate brochures and annual reports, they have come to signify widely ranging work, from package designs and company logotypes to signs, book jackets, computer graphics, and film titles.
(A) suggest laying out corporate brochures and annual reports, they have come to signify widely ranging
(B) suggest laying out corporate brochures and annual reports, it has come to signify a wide range of
(C) suggest corporate brochure and annual report layout, it has signified widely ranging
(D) have suggested corporate brochure and annual report layout, it has signified a wide range of(B)
(E) have suggested laying out corporate brochures and annual reports, they have come to signify widely ranging
Choice A contains an agreement error: the term requires the singular it has in place of the plural they have. Furthermore
85. Out of America’s fascination with all things antique have grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that are bringing back the chaise lounge, the overstuffed sofa, and the claw-footed bathtub.
(A) things antique have grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that are bringing
(B) things antique has grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that is bringing
(C) things that are antiques has grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that bring
(D) antique things have grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that are bringing(B)
(E) antique things has grown a market for bygone styles of furniture and fixtures that bring
have suggested完全不可能表达ongoing action, 因此选择(suggest)
相对于一般现在时(bring), is bringing更好地表达了 ongoing action
相对于have suggested(完全不可能表达ongoing action), (suggest)可以表达ongoing action. 选项里没有 is suggesting 可选择. 根据语意来说, 正在suggesting说不通. 所以suggest这个词没有一般现在时这种时态!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

the term 必须是 it, 排除AE

~~~~~~~~~~~
这个倒装句, 主语a market, 排除 have grown (AD), a market...that... that后面谓语必须是单数 排除A,C,D,E
Greatly influenced by the Protestant missionary Samuel Kirkland, the Oneida was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided with the colonists during the American Revolution.
Statement contradicting itself...
Answer is C.
还有一个语法点:The French are a romantic people ( 法 國 人 是 個 性 情 浪 漫 的 民 族 )这里要用复数。所以排除AB
由either … or, neither…nor, not only…but (also)连接先行词时候,如果两个先行词在数或性上不一致,人称代词一般与邻近的先行词在数和性上保持一致。
Neither the package nor the letters have reached their destination
当表示民族的词与冠词合用当主语,谓语动词用复数形式
  The Japanese were once very aggressive
某些形容词前面加定冠词表示一类人,做主语时候,谓语动词用复数
  The rich are not always selfish
一些表示数量的短语与名词连用时候,谓语动词的数取决于名词的数,名词是复数,谓语动词用复数,反之就用单数。这些短语包括:a lot of /lots of; plenty of/heaps of; half of; two-third (three-fourth…) of; eighty(ten, twenty…) percent; part of; rest of ; none of 等等
  Two-thirds of people present are women
  Lots of damage was caused by the fire
集体名词作主语时,谓语动词的数取决于主语表示的意思和数,当表示整体时候,谓语动词就用单数,当强调集体中的个体时候,谓语动词就用复数。这些集体名词如:army, audience, band ,government ,group ,flock, police, public ,staff ,team ,troop. Crowd, firm, family 等等
  The family is the basic unit of our society
  The family were watching the TV
  The audience was enormous
  The audience were greatly moved at the words
某些固定结构中主语与谓语的数:
  a number of + 可数名词复数 谓语用复数
  the majority of + 可数名词复数 谓语用复数
  the number of + 可数名词复数 谓语用单数
  the greater part of
  a large proportion of
  50% of
  one third of
  plenty of
  the rest of
Choices A, B, and C appropriately use the construction "one X for every thirty-two Y's" to describe the ratio of computers to pupils, but only C, the best answer, is error-free. In A, are does not agree with the subject, one microcomputer; furthermore, in A, B, and D, than is used where as is required. Choices D and E reorder and garble the "one X ..." construction, making four times as many refer illogically to pupils.
数学汇总
For every positive even integer n, the function h(n) is defined to be the product of all the even integers from 2 to n, inclusive. If p is the smallest prime factor of h(100) + 1, then p is
(A) between 2 and 10
(B) between 10 and 20
(C) between 20 and 30
(D) between 30 and 40
(E) greater than 40
是这样的:
h(100) = 2*4*6*8*...*100
h(100) = 2^50*(1*2*3*...*50)
而两个连续自然数的质因子是完全不同的(可验证),所以h(n)+1和h(n)的质因子肯定不一样。而h也就是说50以下的数都是h(100)的因子,即h(100)+1的质因子都大于50。
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The integers m and p are such that 2<m<p and m is not a factor of p. If r is the remainder when p is divided by m, is r > 1 ?
1. the greatest common factor of m and p is 2
2. the least common multiple of m and p is 30

A committee of three people is to be chosen from four married couples. What is the number of different committees that can be chosen if two people who are married to each other cannot both serve on the committee?
(A) 16
(B) 24
(C) 26
(D) 30
(E) 32

2^3. C3/4*8=32

At a dinner party, 5 people are to be seated around a circular table. Two seating arrangements are considered different only when the positions of the people are different relative to each other. What is the total number of different possible seating arrangements for the group?

(C) 24
(D) 32
(E) 120

(2) m is not divisible by 5

answer:A
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A school administrator will assign each student in a group of n students to on e of m classrooms. If 3<m<13<n, is it possible to assign each of the n students to one of the m classrooms so that each classroom has the the smae number of students assinged to it?
(1) It is possible to assign each of 3n students to one of m classroom s so that each classroom has the same number of students assigned to it.
(2) It is possible to assign each of 13n students to one of m classroom s so that each classroom has the same number of students assigned to it.
细心细心再细心....
题目问n/m是否为整数。
条件A,3n/m为整数,3<m<13<n。该条件不能推出n/m为整数,所以条件不充分。
条件B,13n/m为整数,3<m<13<n。该条件可以推出n/m为整数,所以条件充分。
Key:B
If the probability is 0.54 that Stock A will increase in value during the next month and the probability is 0.68 that Stock B will increase in value during the next month, what is the greatest possible value for the probability that neither of these two events will occur?
这题好难阿。考试题真有这么难吗 5555555555
我找到解释了。题目问的是the greatest possible value。这就得考虑AB俩个事件是否独立?
看图,
Key:0.32
Six card numbered from 1 to 6 are placed in an empty bowl. First one card is drawn and then put back into the bowl; then a second card is drawn. If the cards are drawn at random and if the sum of the numbers on the cards is 8, what is the probability that one of the two cards drawn is number 5?
To get a sum of 8 可能出现的情况为
(5,3),(3,5)(4,4)(2,6)(6,2)
总共5种情况,有2种包含了数字5
Key: 2/5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If there are more than two numbers in certain list, is each of the numbers in the list equal to 0?

1) The product of any two numbers in the list equal to 0.

2) The sum of any two numbers in the list equal to 0.

Answer: B

According to a survey of graduating medical students conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges, minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than are other graduates in planning to practice in socioeconomically deprived areas.

  1. minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than are other graduates in planning to practice
  2. minority graduates are nearly four times more likely than other graduates who plan on practicing
  3. minority graduates are nearly four times as likely as other graduates to plan on practicing
  4. it is nearly four times more likely that minority graduates rather than other graduates will plan to practice
  5. it is nearly four times as likely for minority graduates than other graduates to plan to practice

 the answer is A,but I prefer C.

plan on doing没问题

可是likely to do而不是likely in doing

1. Demographers doing research for an international economics newsletter claim that the average per capita income in the country of Kuptala is substantially lower than that in the country of Bahlton. They also claim, however, that whereas poverty is relatively rare in Kuptala, over half the population of Bahlton lives in extreme poverty. At least one of the demographers’ claims must, therefore, be wrong.
The argument above is most vulnerable to which of the following criticisms?
(A) It rejects an empirical claim about the average per capita incomes in the two countries without making any attempt to discredit that claim by offering additional economic evidence.
(B) It treats the vague term “poverty” as though it had a precise and universally accepted meaning.
(C) It overlooks the possibility that the number of people in the two countries who live in poverty could be the same even though the percentages of the two populations that live in poverty differ markedly.
(D) It fails to show that wealth and poverty have the same social significance in Kuptala as in Bahlton
(E) It does not consider the possibility that incomes in Kuptala, unlike those in Bahlton, might all be very close to the country’s average per capita income

2. The recent upheaval in the office-equipment retail business, in which many small firms have gone out of business, has been attributed to the advent of office equipment “superstores” whose high sales volume keeps their prices low. This analysis is flawed, however, since even today the superstores control a very small share of the retail market.
Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the argument that the analysis is flawed?
(A) Most of the larger customers for office equipment purchase under contract directly from manufacturers and thus do not participate in the retail market.
(B) The superstores’ heavy advertising of their low prices has forced prices down throughout the retail market for office supplies.
(C) Some of the superstores that only recently opened have themselves gone out of business.
(D) Most of the office equipment superstores are owned by large retailing chains that also own stores selling other types of goods
(E) The growing importance of computers in most offices has changed the kind of office equipment retailers must stock.

答案E B

**********************************************************************************************

Which of the following best completes the passage below?

Sales campaigns aimed at the faltering personal computer market have strongly emphasized ease of use, called user-friendliness. This emphasis is oddly premature and irrelevant in the eyes of most potential buyers, who are trying to address the logically prior issue of whether______

(A) user-friendliness also implies that owners can service their own computers

(B) personal computers cost more the more user-friendly they are

(C) currently available models are user-friendly enough to suit them

(D) the people promoting personal computers use them in their own homes

(E) they have enough sensible uses for a personal computer to justify the expense of buying

answer is E

AI. 106. “The most effective way for managers to assign work is to divide complex tasks into their simpler component parts. This way, each worker completes a small portion of the task but contributes to the whole.”

==============================================

==========================================

~~~~~~~~~
穴居动物的进化. p1简介. 穴居动物的祖先进化了.
p2因为温度改变.  穴居动物的祖先都是低温动物. 冰川过去, 温度上升, 穴居动物的祖先开始钻到森林最下面, 后来到山洞因为山洞里温度低.
p3夏威夷的山洞那里是温度改变之后, 再慢慢地+食物因素继续进化.
p4除了夏威夷, 其他热带地区的山洞还没法解释. 现有的热带地区的温度都很稳定(没有温度的改变也就无法解释为什么会进化到洞里). 穴居动物少. 但是最近发现了不少穴居动物而且热带地区的温度其实也是经历了变化的.
我才发现前2天有人写过这个JJ, 写得很详细. 可是我感觉他没看明白内容(他的总分是680), 要点写的和我不一样. 大家到考场再看吧.
********************
题目有according to the last p, 问until recently, scientists认为....
热带地区的温度都很稳定 (MS正确)
没有什么穴居动物 (MS正确)
选项有点绕, 有一个表达肯定有问题. 我当时还觉得奇怪, until recently, 是什么意思? 应该是说以前是怎么认为的啊, 可是2个选项都正确???  大家看清楚, 仔细推敲下.
******************
还有一个according to the last p, 问如果热带地区的温度变化和进化有直接关联, 则哪个是正确的.
热带地区的山洞都是lime
热带地区有很多穴居动物
***************
还有一题是问根据文章哪个是正确的
我选的穴居动物的祖先曾经在森林底下呆过.
早期美国华人的经历的研究. 都没有考虑到华人自己的看法. 比如M的研究. 虽然正确地表明华人来美之前, 美国人就对华人有意见, 而不是来美之后才有的.但是她只研究了美国人对华人的看法. 应该研究华人自己写的书信. 书信的好处...
Cox提出华人来美都是被迫的. 其实不然. 华人的书信表明他们都是主动选择来的.
做完这个阅读我马上就纳闷了一下, 怎么题目里面没有涉及书信的细节问题?. 但是题库应该有这样的问题(比如书信的作用之类),大家可能会遇到..因为整篇大段就是讲书信的, 它居然没考到细节...
*************
问M的研究...
忽略了...
underestimate了...
忽略了...
用的资料有偏见, 不准确...
****************
问cox认为...
我选的是华人是被迫来美国的.(原文改写)
主旨题
我选的提出了一个新的strategy, 怎样怎样....
~~~~~~~~~~

====================================================

~~~~~~~
卡车. 都超重了. 结论:要严格地罚. 另外又多说了一句, 现在运输公司都在夜里没人管的时候开卡车. (这句没啥用吧?) 问支持结论. 我选的是现在为了不超重增加车的数量的话, 增加的成本比罚款额度要高.
~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
广告. 公众了解了广告是如何制作的之后, 就不那么相信广告了. evidence: 有一个调查, 公众(发生了什么...忘啦), 所以对明星做的广告, 公众不相信明星真的用那个产品了.
问削弱. 这个题目的问题很绕, 是哪个会call into question the evidence that the author used to support the conclusion
以前的广告注重宣传明星使用了这个产品, 现在的广告不这样宣传了.
公众知道了明星的广告费, 对广告开始怀疑.
其他的选项忘了.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

================================================

没有碰到not only.. but also题.

我选A

result of .... because....并列

Over the course of the eighteenth century, the average output of ironwork tripled as a result of several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore.

A.   Over the course of the eighteenth century, the average output of ironwork tripled as a result of several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore.

B. Over the course of the eighteenth century a tripling in the average output of ironwork was due to the replacement of charcoal by coal for the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore, in addition to several improvements in blowing machinery.

C. With charcoal’s being replaced by coal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery, the average output of ironwork tripled over the eighteenth century.

D. The replacement of charcoal with coal for the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery, the average output of ironwork tripled over the eighteenth century.

E. Charcoal being replaced by coal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore, and several improvements in blowing machinery, which tripled the average output of ironwork over the course of the eighteenth century.

As it is not a good sth(单词不认识) against risk, investment managers do not recommend their customers to buy gold (大概是这个意思)

As it is

Because they are

Since the practice is
