I think you have couple of misunderstandings about the mba application.

1)  Recommendations should come from superiors that you have worked closely with for a period of time. Some one that can give a detailed assessment of your skillsets and potential.  Some one that knows you well (personally and professionally).

2)  Your nationality determines your application pool not your physical location.

I think your work experience is alittle short and light for a top program.  Also your gpa will have an adverse effect on your app because you only have two years of work experience.

Be patient and get some solid experience then take the gmat.

I think I didn't make myself understood,hehe~

1) Fouder and CEO of Suntech-power knows me quite well. I was born in the same village with him. Also, we've kept in touch by email for years. I always talk with him and ask him for advice whenever I have difficulties about career plan or life plan. When I was a junior in THU, I once co-founded a company relating to solar power with my schoolmates, I wrote to him a lot, and he shared with me many ideas about entrepreneurium. So he may be someone who knows well how I grew up. He also invites me to join Sun-tech and promises a position any time I wish.

2) Someones in U.S. told me it is much easier to apply in U.S. than in China for Chinese students, but I doubt about that...

I don't intend to get engaged in a top program. My target is 30th~50th, e.g. Rice, u wis madison. Am I qualified for that?

Many thanks!

I got the idea that this guy from Suntech is some one who knows you well on a personal level( growing up in the same village etc).  But after doing so many campus visits (chicago, penn, cornell, cmu, and etc) the sense that I got from adcom is that the best recommendation letter is a letter writen by some one that can give you a fair assessment from a professional point of view which translates to a letter from your boss at work.  You might be able to use the Suntech letter as a second recommendation at best.  Why you should not use a letter from this Suntech guy?  My reason is that a letter from him does not give off credibility.  However I don't want to discourage you from using a letter from Suntech...am merely saying that it is not the best option.

One more thing that I forgot to mention is that a "personal" recommendation should only come from entrepreneurs, independent consultants or people that does not have a superior.  If you do have a boss and still uses a rec from someone outside of work does give out certain negative signals.
