1)The man lays a card on the table if the number on the card is divisible by 2.
2)The man lays a card on the table if the number on the card is divisible by 3.

Answer:A
为什么不是 D ？1）应出 7张啊，2）是出3张啊？难道理解不对？

2。Mr.Chopra drove his car 20 miles to the airport and then flew 400 miles at a speed 4 times faster than he drove .The entire trip took 3 hours.
What was his average flying speed in miles per hour?
A) 112 B) 120 C)160 D)200 E)220

Anwer

为什么不是 C ？答案d是怎么算出来的///搞不懂。
另外，“at a speed 4 times faster than he drove ”怎么理解？
如开车速度是V，那么飞机速度应是4V，还是5V ？

请帮助！！

第二题中的a speed 4 times faster than 是5倍吧。若4倍应该是as much as 来定义。
或用4 times its driven speed来定义吧。
第一题，我也不明白。有4个8，3个6。问放多少张？
1）若牌的点数能被2整除，则放了一张。
2）若牌的点数能被3整除，则放一张。
不就是都放一张吗？
我是死活不明白这题！！

Yeah, so do I .

Could you believe it has same meaning between " .A...4 times greater than B.." and "..A...4 times as many as B...." , each expression meaning A=4B even though it is overtly different.

Hope we can get confirm from ETS. Langue is used by People.

I checked the maths of OG yesterday， but I cannot find such kind of expression as“ times faster than ”。

我快考了，请帮助确认一下，该死的{at a speed 4 times faster than he drove ”是4V，还是5V }。

Check "Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese dictionary, (Fourth edition)", you may find somthing useful in Page 1600.

牛津高阶英汉双解词典第四版1600页在对"times"的解释中有下面的例子:
This book is three times as long as / three times longer than/ three times the length of that one.
中文翻译为:这本书是那本书篇幅的三倍(比那本书长两倍/篇幅为那本书的三倍).
可以认为上题应该是4V.[em09]

per #23, (1) is enough, no matter which card is laid on the table, it is diviseble by 2
(2) it depends. no rules is given regarding numbers which are not divisible by 3.
