CR14
22. In a survey of consumers in an Eastern European nation, respondents were asked two questions about each of 400 famous Western brands: whether or not they recognized the brand name and whether or not they thought the products bearing that name were of high quality. The results of the survey were a rating and corresponding rank order for each brand based on recognition, and a second rating-plus-ranking based on approval. The brands ranked in the top 27 for recognition were those actually available in that nation. The approval rankings of these 27 brands often differed sharply from their recognition rankings. By contrast, most of the other brands had ratings, and thus rankings, that were essentially the same for recognition as for approval
Which one of the following, if each is a principle about consumer surveys, is violated by the survey described?

(A) Never ask all respondents a question if it cannot reasonably be answered by respondents who make a particular response to another question in the same survey
(B) Never ask a question that is likely to generate a large variety of responses that are difficult to group into a manageable number of categories
(C) Never ask all respondents a question that respondents cannot answer without giving up their anonymity
(D) It is better to ask the same question about ten different products than to ask ten different questions about a single product
(E) It is best to ask questions that a respondent can answer without fear of having gotten the answer wrong

Anwer is A. 用排除法倒是能选出来,但A到底是什么意思呢。我的理解
是原文的问题出现在如果一个人不知道某个品牌,就无法
回答下一个问题(是不是质量好)。但和A说得又不完全一样

CR22
5. Questions have arisen regarding the accuracy of the reports the university's archaeological museum issues on its sales and acquisitions for the year. To forestall controversy, this year's report is being reviewed by three archaeologists from other universities. Since these archaeologists will be given full access to all documents on which the report is based, they will be able to determine whether it is indeed accurate.
The reasoning in the argument is flawed because the argument
(A) does not specify whether the reviewers will have access to data about objects that have been in the museum's collection for many years
(B) provides no information regarding the size or quality of the archaeological museum's collection
(C) omits any mention of whether the museum's collection is on display or is available only to researchers
(D) omits any mention of whether the museum's collection is on display or is available only to researchers
(E) does not describe what will occur if the reviewers discover discrepancies between the report and the documents on which it was based

why answer is D, not A?

CR14: the survey will be accurate only if all quesions must be possibly answered by everyone who can, at the same time, possibly answer the othe quesion in the servey. In A, if there are poeople who can only get one question answered(especially, who can only answer the 2nd), the validity of the survey would be challenged, as we notice, the results of answers of 2nd quesion is using the result of the first quesion's result.

CR22: this one seems asking for assumption.
why C) and D) are same. I otherwise think E seems the right answer.
The focus is the acuracy of the report, in E, if those 3 people do nothing when they discover discrpancies, this year's report may still be doubful, right?
Meanwhile, things such as,collection of the museum, data about objects collection for many years, are not revelent.

-above for your reference only. looking forword to having everyone's opinion.

Thanks!!!
For CR14, so you basicly agree with my point? I just not so sure about answer A is really like what I supposed.

For CR22, I don't know why C=D, that's what Elsat shows.
I tend to agree D/C.Because the report is showing how the collections were bought and sold in that year. if the collections are only available to the researchers, why we believe they can give the endoresment to the report? even though they can review all the documents. what's the difference vs. last year?

this is only my personal opinion, I'm not so sure.

It seems now C/D is better.
