Ok, according to the answer your supplied ,that means it is impossible to know the market value if we don't know the purchase price.

我认为，后半句的理解有问题，汽车的市值每年在其购买价的基础上贬值20%，那么除当年外，以后每年的市值不变？

In my view, statement 1 means the car has 5 years of useful life. It means the car depreciates at purchare price/5 every year. So statement 1 in not sufficient. I agree with the answer E.
BTW, I think PR is very lousy, at least compared with KP. The answers and explainations are obscure and hasty sometimes. The score is also strange. I've ever got 50 in math part with 3 wrong questions( but not within first 10 questions, I heard that it's important to get the first 10 right).
