When I look back into one year ago from now, it feels it just happened yesterday. Now, everyday passes by so quickly and busily, sometimes, it makes me feel hard to retrospect even the happenings in the past week. Here are some of my experience in the Chicago interview, and hope it would help.
How did I prepare for the interview? 1. After I got the office address of my interviewer, I went "spot-seeing". I also checked certain background of the company, just briefly understand what my interviewer is doing and probably may bring out some topic that she might be interested as ice-breaking. 2. Fully go-thru my own resume, prepare for every possible story she might ask me in each bullet points. 3. Prepare for the questions about school to ask her.
How was the interview going?
This alum interview was quite formal. Saturday morning in her office. She told me it would be 30mins, and it turned out to be exactly the same time.
The questions from the interviewers were kind of stereotype: · To briefly introduce yourself · Tell a leadership story · Tell a teamwork story
In telling the story, my interviewer was listening quietly, did not interrupt me from time to time, but she did ask some follow-up questions. If I remember correctly, the questions were mainly about the key takeaways from the stories.
What highlighted the interview was that I brought a "small achievement" indicating my innovative personality, a small design I made. Highly suggest you to present any visualized stuff to show your achievement, which might colorize the whole meeting.
Key takeaways:
Be prepared, be interesting, be personal, and be yourself.
Prepare your story in an attractively way (e.g. any picture to show? Of course it need to be very impressive), which shows not only your sense of humor but also your presentation skill (one of the important criteria for MBAs).
Prepare some personal questions to your interviewer, e.g. asking him/her what were the highlights in their B-school life or what were the most memorable moments/ activities in Chicago GSB, etc.
Good luck to you all! I am ready to see all of you next year.作者: jennifer1985 时间: 2008-2-20 06:56
