The market situation in China has dramatically changed across time. To establish a sustainable competitive advantage, managers have to understand how such dynamics influence buyers' preferences and be able to present an appropriate value proposition.

You will need to know:
- Who is your target market?
- Who are your competitors?
- How could you differentiate yourself
  from your competitors?
- How do you create value for the market?

To fly high in your career, a better understanding on leadership would be helpful:

- Are leaders born or made?
- What distinguishes leaders from
   managers?
- Are there common traits or styles among
   leaders?
- What defines a good leader in the Asian
   context?
- Are you a good leader? Or can you
  develop into one?

HKUST is Again No. 1 in Asia and Australia in EIU MBA Rankings

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) today announced that its full-time MBA program has been ranked by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), for a second year, as No. 1 in Asia and Australia.

Among this year’s world’s top 100 MBA programs in the list EIU produces annually, 49 are from North America, 40 from Europe and 11 from Asia and Australia. The HKUST MBA program places 20th on the overall list.

EIU’s ranking criteria include four main areas, namely, “open new career opportunities”, “personal development and educational experience”, “increase salary” and “potential to network”. The HKUST MBA program ranks No. 3 in the world in “personal development and educational experience” which is measured by faculty quality, student quality, student diversity and education experience. It is also placed at No. 10 in the “open new career opportunities” category.

Leonard Cheng, Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School, said, “The EIU rankings measure value creation delivered by an MBA program for its participants. This is an area that our program puts a lot of focus on. With our current level of student diversity, the HKUST MBA will continue to promote international talent mobility by attracting students from around the world, and thereby contribute to the overall human capital development for businesses in the region.”

Steven DeKrey, Director of MBA Program, said, “We have been and will continue to innovate and implement new initiatives in our program to enrich students’ learning experiences. In addition to our well established international exchange program we have in recent years added a professional team to look after students’ personal and career development. Our objectives are to assist our students to renew, improve and develop themselves with their MBA experience. I am glad the EIU results are consistent with our priorities.”
