(b) After passing through a red giant stage ,depending on on its mass, a star will compress itself into a white dwarf,a neutron star,or a black hole.

(d)Mass determines whether a star ,after passing through a red giant stage,will compress itself into a white dwarf, a neutron star, or a black hole.

答案选d,但是我认为d改变了原句重心；b中,depending on on its mass, 修饰对象模糊，但似乎比d的错误要好些，请赐教。

B有2大不可原谅的错误。
1、你所说的depending 修饰不清
2、用will表达的是非常可能发生的事情，这在原句的逻辑中是找不到的。
或者说B改变了句仪。
D。表达意思非常清晰。也用了will，但前面有whether。

A 错，因为，depending 在句尾是修饰整个句子的，但从句意上来说，是不通的
B 错， depending 修饰不清？
