我觉得，无论how it was 或者是way it was 都是很wordy的，所以只有C最简洁了，另外in the last century的确应该用完成时的！

个人觉得ABE有个共同的缺点就是little changed, 改成changed little会比较好。

另外同意ls,整个句子强调的是完成时，也就是妇女地位在上个世纪中的转变过成及对现在的影响；好像并没有特别明显的比较痕迹，lz可以试试换个角度看这道题。
