帮朋友问一下。

投行 IT，GMAT 750 以上，30 多岁大龄。goal 是回国做 hedge fund。今年申请 TOP 10 失败。拿到 Wharton 面试，Columbia waiting list。HBS Stanford 没 interview。几个问题请教：

1。是不是 H/S 对这种 goal 的不感兴趣？还是因为年龄？

2。Columbia 的 ding 信，建议他申请 18 months program。是不是暗示大龄？

3。如果类似背景，申请要注意什么。有什么建议？

1. Hard to say without looking through his application.  Even if age was an issue, it probably wasn't the only factor.

2. I think that's a standard reply.  They may believe he'll find a better fit in the other program.  He should follow-up with the school.

3. Has he demonstrated interest and knowledge in hedge fund?  Did he discuss existing skills and expertise that will contribute to his success working in hedge fund in China?  Hedge fund is hot but it also takes special talent to stay in the game and ahead of others.  It could be difficult to convince the school that he's worth the investment.
