Hello Everyone:

As it is the beginning of May, I wanted to let you know where we stand on the Class of 2013.
This Thursday, May 5 is an important day for two reasons. First, Round 3 decisions will be released. Second, it is the date when all those admitted in Round 2 are required to let us know whether or not they will be matriculating at HBS. Because the Round 2 response results are critical in dictating how many spots will remain to be filled in the class, we will be waiting until after May 5 before we begin making decisions on waitlist candidates.

We expect that there will be spaces in the class that will need to be filled, but at this time I cannot accurately indicate to you how many. Next week we will begin reviewing and making decisions on waitlist candidates in earnest. Please email me directly at echang@hbs.edu if you still remain interested in HBS and are sincere in your intent to accept a place in the class should one be offered to you. The majority of you should hear a decision on your application before the end of May.

Heading into June, the waitlist will be significantly smaller. The waitlist at that time will serve to hold a group of candidates who could be available to matriculate in case last minute (early July) cancellations occur. It is critical to keep your contact information updated by emailing my colleague, Dana Scalisi, especially since many of you are traveling now and over the next few weeks.

Thank you for your patience with our process, and please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Eileen Chang
