首先我们来看下下正确答案是怎么来的；
从句子逻辑判断，比起用不定式，growing confidence 后用that从句更能清晰明

了地表达出这种信心；排除BCD；
D中选择用passive voice，没有主动语态好，因为被动语态一般用于没有明确的

动作发出者的时候，而在这里动作的发出者很明确是many。所以选择A；

D之所以不对因为也用了被动语态。而且两个主谓齐全的句子没有用连接连接，那

么就是run on

关于had用过去完成时这个问题，我觉得其实一般过去时也ok.

不过刚才查了下论坛，看到另外一种理解 people feared that economy will slow down but stopped fearing after it recovered ； recovery发生在earlier this year之后仍然在过去，而fear发生在recover之前，那就是过去的过去。所以用过去完成时。：
