我的理解是carotenoid 在动物的体内都是一样的稀少的，因此动物要么用它来抵抗病毒要么用吸引异性

两个错: it may be就不代表ture. 而且说的是male,选项说的是animal.

关于用来解毒的色素：

C：用来解毒的同时就不能用来提亮羽毛颜色了

E：可以特高被选择为配偶的可能性（=可以提高毛色亮度）

两个其实是矛盾的哟。

E是错的. 题目问的是"用来解毒的C". 而E说用来解毒的C可以提高吸引力,it's wrong. 只有C被用作提高color的时候,才能提高male的吸引力. C被用作解毒的时候, 和吸引力无关.
