MIT Entrepreneurship的特色

刚才看到长沙人er关于mit和wharton的entrepreneurship的帖子，和大家分享一下我对mit的了解，新开一个主题，方便后来的筒子门找到。

我对mit的比较了解是因为我目前在一个生物技术创业公司，头三个员工之一，公司的起源和关键技术正是来源于mit。我正在复习gmat，准备申请2012的mba，mit是一个必选。对创业或者申请entrepreneurship mba的朋友有兴趣可以进一步交流，站内联系或者msn：yanghuan_bao(at) hotmail.com

虽然usnews MBA的entrepreneurship的专项排名，MIT第三， Wharton第五，貌似相差不大，但是两者的风格迥异。

MIT的特色是~~~Technology~~~ entrepreneurship, 重点是technology。附件是一个2009年关于mit的entrepreneurship的报告：Entrepreneurial Impact: The Role of MIT

摘抄几句重点：
惊人的影响力：毕业生创办的公司的收入相当于全球第七的经济体："25,800 currently active companies founded by MIT alumni that employ about 3.3 million people and generate annual world revenues of $2 trillion, producing the equivalent of the eleventh-largest economy in the world".

创业的领域："MIT alumni companies are primarily knowledge- based companies in software, biotech, manufacturing (electronics, instruments, machinery), or consulting (architects, business consultants, engineers)".

创业集中于软件，电子和生物技术："An important subset of the MIT alumni companies is in software, electronics (including instruments, semiconductors, and computers), and biotech".

这些特色很大程度和mit的地理位置有紧密联系：处身于Harvard/MIT举世无双的理工科研圣地, biotech cluster in Kendal Square, emerging energy cluster in Greater Boston, Harvard医学院以及附属的超过10家的一流医院和上万人的工作人员－－－

其他和mit entrepreneurship风格类似的是只有两个: stanford 和 uc－berkeley，这两个类似在于依附于世界顶尖的理工大学，成功的创业环境（硅谷）。

这一切都是wharton不可望其项背的。当然wharton的finance是无人能及，我相信wharton entrepreneuship有自己的特色，欢迎熟悉wharton的朋友补充。
