就是不懂! 求教大侠们!
LUXIN CRITICAL REASONING LOOSE-LEAFING
16.Laws requiring the use of headlights during daylight hours can prevent automobile collisions. However, since daylight visibility is worse in countries farther from the equator, any such laws would obviously be more effective in preventing collisions in those countries. In fact, the only countries that actually have such laws are farther from the equator than is the continental US.

Which of the following conclusions could be most properly drawn from the information given above?

(A)Drivers in the continental US who used their headlights during the day would be just as likely to become involved in collision as would drivers who did not use their headlights.
(B)In many countries that are farther form the equator than is the continental US poor daylight visibility is the single most important factor in automobile collisions.
(C)The proportion of automobile collisions that occur in the daytime is greater in the contries that have daytime headlight laws.
(D)Fewer automobile collisions probably occur each year in countries that have daytime headlight laws than occur within the continental US.
(E)Daytime headlight laws would probably do less to prevent automobile collisions in the continental US than they do in the countries that have the laws.
A):E
17.A company’s two divisions performed with remarkable consistency over the past 3 years: in each of those years, the pharmaceutical division has accounted for roughly 20 percent of dollar sales and 40 percent of profits, and the chemical division for the balance.

Which of the following can properly be inferred regarding the past 3 years from the statement above?

(A)Total dollar sales for each of the company’s divisions have remained roughly constant.
(B)The pharmaceutical division has faced stiffer competition in its markets than has the chemical division.
(C)The chemical division has realized lower profits per dollar of sales than has the pharmaceutical division.
(D)The product mix offered by each of the company’s divisions has remained unchanged.
(E)Highly profitable products accounted for a higher percentage of the chemical division’s sales than of those of the pharmaceuticals division.
A):C

19.In this day and age, the Constitution is a fallible and incomplete guide to national policymaking. Instead of 3 branches of government---legislative, executive, and judicial---each with its clearly defined sphere of competence and activity, as the Constitution prescribes, there may be five branches of government dealing with any particular subject matter, or seven, or twenty, or only one, with legislative, executive, and judicial roles mixed and distributed throughout the national government.

The persuasiveness of the claim made above is most weakened by its vague use of the phrase.

(A)this day and age
(B)fallible and incomplete
(C)guide to national policymaking
(D)branches of government
(E)mixed and distributed
A)
