本题答案选C，我觉得 armed only with ...在从句中应就近找修饰对象，离其真正的修饰对象Bela Bartok and Zoltan Kodaly太远。我觉得B很明确。

本题 glycerols 的原形是 glycerol，我不明白后面的从句中their到底指代什么？C、D都挺好，仅仅按照白大侠讲的D是so that从句，不简洁，有点牵强。

请各位指教上面两题。    Thanks a bunch!

1。2两题，都是用动名词从句表伴随，看LZM书。

按照白大侠的讲法，此处traveling and being  armed并列，又两者同时发生，故 and being  省略，如不是同时发生就要用doing and ed乐。

1) "travelling"和"armed with"都修饰Bela Bartok and Zoltan Kodaly，但是因为都是表示pioneering work in ethnomusicology的状态，所以，从逻辑上不能分开。

2）"their"我觉得是修饰certain invertebrates and fish. so that用在这里表示结果？不是很通，因为convert starches into complex carbohydrates called glycerols和manufacture their own antifreeze指的应该是一件事情；表示目的？应该用so that they can......但是也讲不太通呀
