Position:
On the one hand, education should lead us to appreciate the uniquenesses that distinguish one nation from the other. On the other hand, education should teach us to recognize our similarities and to see the human community as a united one.
1. Nations, just like individuals, have their own characters, contributing to the diversity of the world and making the world a dynamic and energetic one.
2. Each nation has developed its distinct history, culture and values, from which we can learn from
each other. For example,
(1) Confucious school of thought flourished in Singapore.
(2) Sun Tzu's Art of War has been taught as the strategy course in Columbia B-School.
(3) American's values,beliefs have a great influence on the young people of our nation.
3.Recoganizing the similarities among all people and places helps us to understand each other and respect each, thereby promoting tolerance and peace in the international communicty.
