AA

AA-52: “The construction last year of a shopping mall in downtown Oak
City was a mistake. Since the mall has opened, a number of local businesses have closed, and the downtown area suffers from an acute parking shortage, and arrests for crime and vagrancy have increased in the nearby Oak
    City
    Park. Elm
City should pay attention to the example of the Oak
City mall and deny the application to build a shopping mall in Elm
    City.”

AI

AI-37: “Since science and technology are becoming more and more essential to modern society, schools should devote more time to teaching science and technology and less to teaching the arts and humanities.”

AA-2. The following appeared in a memorandum from the business department of the Apogee Company.

“When the Apogee Company had all its operations in one location, it was more profitable than it is today. Therefore, the Apogee Company should close down its field offices and conduct all its operations from a single location. Such centralization would improve profitability by cutting costs and helping the company maintain better supervision of all employees.”

AI-24. “A powerful business leader has far more opportunity to influence the course of a community or a nation than does any government official.”

没有competitor for foods or compete with each other。

JJ17(45 74 114 154 157)

17. protection of employee will boost the expenses of employer, thus ultimately hampering employees themselves.

Wrongdoing termination.

RC5: LPJJ

GWD-11-Q41:

Charcoal from a hearth site in Colorado, 2,000 miles south of Alaska, is known to be 11,200 years old.  Researchers reasoned that, since glaciers prevented human migration south from the Alaska-Siberia land bridge between 18,000 and 11,000 years ago, humans must have come to the Americas more than 18,000 years ago.

Which of the following pieces of new evidence would cast doubt on the conclusion drawn above?

  1. Using new radiocarbon dating techniques, it was determined that the charcoal from the Colorado site was at least 11,400 years old.

  2. Another campsite was found in New Mexico with remains dated at 16,000 years old.

  3. A computer simulation of glacial activity showed that it would already have been impossible for humans to travel south overland from Alaska 18,500 years ago.

  4. Using new radiocarbon dating techniques, it was proved that an ice-free corridor allowed passage south from the Alaska-Siberia land bridge at least 11,400 years ago.

  5. Studies of various other hunting-gathering populations showed convincingly that, once the glaciers allowed passage, humans could have migrated from Alaska to Colorado in about 20 years.

GWD-13-Q40:

In response to viral infection, the immune systems of mice typically produce antibodies that destroy the virus by binding to proteins on its surface.  Mice infected with a herpesvirus generally develop keratitis, a degenerative disease affecting part of the eye.  Since proteins on the surface of cells in this part of the eye closely resemble those on the herpesvirus surface, scientists hypothesize that these cases of keratitis are caused by antibodies to herpesvirus.

Which of the following, if true, gives the greatest additional support to the scientists’ hypothesis?

  1. Other types of virus have surface proteins that closely resemble proteins found in various organs of mice.

  2. There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice contract herpes at roughly the same rate as other mice.

  3. Mice that are infected with a herpesvirus but do not develop keratitis produce as many antibodies as infected mice that do develop keratitis.

  4. There are mice that are unable to form antibodies in response to herpes infections, and these mice survive these infections without ever developing keratitis.

  5. Mice that have never been infected with a herpesvirus can sometimes develop keratitis.
