请问如果把C补全了是不是这样:

如果把A改成: as the efforts were by对不对呢?这里省略的原则是什么啊?

根据as。。。as排除BD

A，it 和前面得efforts were marked不符合

E。变成了there be结构，改变了by得意思，随意删减了by

C，是by frustration （those were marked by）by success

虽然LZ提出把A改成as the efforts were by，语法没有问题，但是仍然不是最佳答案。既然要省略，那么两个as的结构应尽量相似和简洁。前一个by，后面直接跟frustration,则根据parrelism，后一个也应该紧跟一个名词。
