我觉得楼上的想多了。只有理工科背景的同学根本不知道财务报表的东西，因此，题目里不会出现一些专用词汇等。我的想法是这样的：
我们根本不考虑它什么意思，跟着他的逻辑来走。前面说了一大堆促销的不好，但是公司还是要进行。原因就是管理层想看到销售额的增加。因此，最后一句话总结上面的内容，即：公司还是会采用促销活动，即便对Bottom line有影响。因为有转择的关系，所以这个影响肯定是负面的。那前文里，只有以下这些是负面的东西： the better promotion,the bigger the loss, even negative ones such as damage to a brand’s reputation or erosion of customer loyalty, as is often feared.
那我们可以猜测，Bottom line就是指的是前面的那些或者某些东西（包括，利润，名声，客户忠诚度）。那题目是问什么样的证据表明了促销对BOTTOM LINE 的影响。
看前面只有一个证据：And the bigger the increase in sales at promotion prices, the bigger the loss.是对Bottom line 有影响的，因此，这个证据就是指促销发生的频率。
我们反过来看：假设我们已经知道Bottom line 的意思是利润，那对题目的理解就很容易，什么证据表明促销对利润有影响。
全文就一个证据说：促销越多（频率问题），利润越低。所以此题选B。
我之前也选错了，原因是，我没有把这句话And the bigger the increase in sales at promotion prices, the bigger the loss看成一个证据，或者说facts.我只把它当成作者的一个评价了。

bottom line 就是 net profit. 里面有句话，clearly price promotions are generally run at a loss这就是指bottom line 是negative的，otherwise there would be more of them，说明如果是赚钱，就应该频率更高。。

这个题比较tricky，韦氏上面bottom line指financial considerations (as cost or profit or loss)，我理解就是，题设要问的是这个strategy 对利润会有影响的证据是什么，显然是前面提到的，降价促销的次数越多，企业越亏，这也就是所谓的影响了bottom line了。答案也不太好，B选项可以这么理解：就是说促销的次数的这句话，为促销影响bottom line这个事实提供了证据，其实也不是frequency，而是说frequency这句话恰好给提供了证据，其他选项不太沾边。

理解一下文中的最后一句话：尽管价格促销对the bottom line有影响，还是不情愿放弃这个战略……
问题问的是什么能证明价格促销对the bottom line的影响（当然应该是负面的，从despite可以判断出）
所以应该是B，价格促销使用的频率
定位文中说了Clearly price promotions are generally run at a loss, otherwise there would be more of them.
即价格促销带来亏损，否则就会有更多的价格促销活动出现
所以频率就是一个证据
