答案是C,但C里很明显是拿红色的it,即the dollar bill 和 four quarters进行比较,应该用lighter而不是用less,

如果是将its weight和 four quarters' weight进行比较,则可以用less而不是lighter.

这里的每个答案都有问题,但正确答案中用了less,如果用less,则应该是拿8.1grams来比较了,则than后应该是weight of  four quarters.

难道说这里省略了(four quarters) weigh?

楼上的请注意than后跟的是n.即four quarters
说明than前也应该是n.那就应该是名词形式的it即the dollar bill 如果这样则应该用lighter了

这题考的是parallelism， than前后应该对称，而且没有more ... rather than这种结构，所以选C
C中，我觉得it指代的内容是Sacagawea dollar coin，因为Sacagawea dollar coin是句子的主语，而且the dollar bill也不可能有8.1grams重啊～ 我认为"far less than the quaters"在这里可以理解为"weights"的状语，为状语后置现象，移到前面就是"it weights, far less than the quaters, which weigh 5.67 grams each, only 8.1 grams."后置是因为状语太长而宾语太短，避免句子重心不平衡。

没有必要这么复杂，weight (多少）的比较用less or more(如：PRICE 用 high or low不用EXPENSIVE OR CHEAP),同理：这里比较的是重量的值，因此用LESS OR MORE没有问题啊。。。 C 正确
