1. 這裡的then企圖連接主句與修飾句之間的關係，但這樣的連接是沒有必要

的。

2. 過去分詞固然可以作為狀語從句修飾主句主語，但個人認為這裡應加上

when, while, if, after，其關係會比較清楚。

A还是不省略好吧，表达更明确。有点分不清是entomologists还是locusts被placed了。
选E不对，这里应该有个“当。。。时候”才符合逻辑。不知道我这样解释是否能看明白。

我感觉locusts are 可以省，其主语还是后面句子的主语they。

同意做成时间壮语比较好。
