Many large department stores in Montalia now provide
shopping carts for their customers. Since customers using shopping carts tend
to buy more than those without shopping carts, most of these stores are
experiencing strong sales growth, while most other department stores are not.

文章的中心就是－－为了提高sales，某个店打算引入采购车。
weaken打算作什么，通常就是说明会产生别的后果，而不是预期的后果。A就

是说明了这个，引入购物车会让消费者认为这个店的东西没有那么高档了，所

以反而会减少sales。
B 跟文章一点关系没有
C 有点support
D 尽管有shopping cart, 但是与sales无关。多长时间换车与主题无关
E 要不要雇人，与cost有关，但与sales 无关

对啊，我也这样想的，可是题目不是要support increasing sales吗，管image什么事儿啊？？
CR不是要有相关性吗？？？

在消费者的印象里这个店是比较高档的，如果引入购物车，就会有损与这

个印象，就有可能反而不来买咚咚了。
就像如果LV从来不打折，让人觉得比较高档，所以趋之若鹜。如果LV也开始什

么大打折了，有人就会觉得LV没有那么高档了，反而不会买了。

文章提到“managers of Jerrod’s, Montalia’s premier department store”。既然该店是个品牌店，来买东西的顾客固然把在该店消费当成是一种身份/地位的象征。

幻想一下，如果在LV店里给你一个手推车，你是不是会想怎么感觉像在超市一样，自然不会把在该店消费当成是一种身份/地位的象征，可能你就跑到隔壁Gucci店去了。

A说的就是这个。

ls两位说的都对，但是总觉得是有点牵强的，A的逻辑是要通过image下降然后说sales会下降，其实不尽然啊，如果image下降然后本来因为买不起而不敢来的人都来了呢？那销售量不就上去了？而且sales和profit是两个不同的概念，就算是来的人减少了也不见得sales会减少呀，说不定群众认为这商店终于降低了档次就薄利多销了呢……

这里有个背景。
在美国，各个层次的商店分得非常清楚，什么样的人群进什么样的商店。就算有些高档一点的商店也打折什么的，不大容易吸引别的档次的消费者来消费。就像夏耐儿的outlet，虽然知道会比正品店便宜，但一般人还是不会进。如果档次降低了，反而会把现在的顾客给赶走了。

今天也是有点疑惑，后来清楚了

首先确定主题，是与cart、sale 以及 profit相关，
其次，文章是plan---goal 类型的，要削弱的是goal，也就是说，即使plan执行了，goal也打不到
再次，文章是由cart能增加sale推出需要增加cart，论据是与cart和sale或者profit相关
分析A：正确，选项与论据相关；  B:出现了unemployment rate 和wage都是与论据无关，排除；C：虽然与论据相关，但加强了论据；D：出现了cart但与profit无关； E：hire people和parking areas与论据无关

高智威老师说过，与论据无关的选项、选项中出现同类别下的其他且文中没有信息直接排除，此题这样做就比较快。
