Please, give me some information on the foIlowing information.
1:In your ms finance program's curriculum description website, there is 1.5
credit hour's internship, right? What's this elective course for? Do you have
any career service which can help international students to find
internships in D.C.,or, do us international students have to find internships by
ourselves? DO you guarantee every student that you can offer us
internships? What's your policy for this course?
This is so that students working
a substantive financially-oriented job can get class credit. We do have a
placement center that will help you find an internship but there is no
guarantee on the part of AU to provide you one. The job must be a job with
substantive finance duties. As I’m sure you can imagine, there are a
great number of agencies and firms in the DC area that employ internationals.
2:Can I change my major from ms finance to msfinance and real estate? If I can,
what should I do? If I cannot, what can I do to study more courses from the
real estate side?
Real estate electives can
fulfill MSF required classes. As to transferring, you would need to formally
apply to do so and be reviewed by the MSFRE admissions committee. That is likely
best done at the end of your first semester or possibly at the beginning of the
second.
Also, under current condition, what are the chances of finding an internship in
D.C as an international student holding a H-1visa?
I don’t have any real
way of assessing that. As you can imagine, the employment situation is changing
regularly and there is currently legislation under proposal that would limit
the ability of financial firms to hire non-residents.
4:Who are the other ms finance students of this fall? How many of them are
international?What's the total number of the students of this program? Where do
they come from?
I can’t provide you
with the names of incoming students for privacy reasons. The program currently
has 23 students in it. We have admitted 18 students for the Fall but will not
know for some time how many of them will matriculate. The program is approximately
half international.
5:How long does it take for me to finish ms finance degree? Can I prolong my
study time to at least 1.5 years? What's your policy this year? Because it's
pretty difficult to secure a job upon graduation under current condition.
The program is designed to be
finished in one calendar year if a student takes 12 hours in the Fall, 12 hours
in the Spring, and 6 hours in the summer. It is possible to extend your time by
taking 9 hours per semester which is still a full-time load. You could
conceivably take 2 academic years to conclude the program.
6:How much do I have to pay for ms finance program as I have to send you my
financial documents for you to issue a I-20. I believe the cost per credit
is $1140. With a 33 hour program that would be $37,620 and with 30 hours that
would be $34,200. |
