A时态不对，应该用过去时，figure grow是一个连续的过程，所以可以用完成时，但spend不是连续性，如果用完成时就变成他们已经花了。。。明显不对，另外这个they指代也有问题

they可以就近指代chores

GMAT中代词原则上就近指代  如果指代刚好正确 那么久绝对没问题

就近指代  但是指代错误（不是他需要指代的东西，如这题应该是students）那很有可能被判有问题

有些例外的情况GMAT认为可以“穿越”指代  所以代词这个不好做绝对的判断标准
