答案说C Called proton-induced X-ray emission should
be placed next to a technique and should

但是C还有A在emission后面的which从句不是一样的么？那为啥A是正确答案呢？

研究了一下，Manhattan说有四种情况是要跳跃修饰的：
1、是必须的mission-critical的修饰语，往往是由of-开头的；
2、谓语宾语都很短而修饰语很长；
3、中间插入了很短的、用逗号隔开的、不重要的修饰语；
4、该修饰语处于平行结构中。

这样的话，C选项符合上述第3种情况，which就应该是修饰pollutants了，逻辑

错误；

A选项倒是真的看不出符合哪种情况~这个还想要请牛牛解答~
自己的理解是因为called是必须放在tech的后面，所以which只能在后面`

关于跳跃指代

which引导非限定性定语从句时，如果前面有句子或者短语，且有明确的中心词，则which指代该中心词。如A选项中的a technique called proton-induced X-ray emission中的中心词是technique，所以which指代的是technique；
C项中which前面的短语中called proton-induced X-ray emission中没有中心词，则就近修饰emission。
