答案是B，已经看了解释了，有个疑问：这里为什么只说了时态错误？as equiped to的形式是正确的么？怎么总觉得这种写法本身就有问题呢，as后面真的能直接加equiped么？

as（a species）equiped 这样看起来是不是好些。我觉得OG没有提到搭配错的原因是

因为如果理解为省略，其实也解释的通，而不是像时态那样的硬伤。当然，OG的解释经常

都不会把所有的错误都涵盖到，只会说一些最致命的点。

因为N这个物种呈现出的可以面对抵御环境变化的能力已经被证明是不存在了（由but后的句子解释的意思可以看出，他不能抵御所以灭绝的事实），所以用现在完成时表示

完成时表示动作发生的先后顺序。
表现出来的适应环境的能力先发生，灭绝后发生（如果不用完成时，则说明适应环境的能力一直延续到现在，那么就不可能因为不适应环境而灭绝了）。
这里不是现在完成时，因为现在完成时的含义是：动作从过去开始，一直延续到现在。但实际上，是动作从过去的过去（灭绝以前）开始，一直延续到过去（灭绝），所以理论上应该使用过去完成时。

但是因为这里是由不定时符号to引导的不定式短语（不定式的完成时，如果没有记错，不定式只有一种完成时），做appear的宾语。
当然另外的解释可能是这样的，因为现在仍然灭绝，所以对比于现在这个时间点，应该是非谓语动词的现在完成时。

这两种解释方式，我个人更倾向于前者，因为从语法的角度上来说一直性非常好，不过不知道语法大牛们作何理解……

还是不太懂~OG说“their apparent abilities cannot be present tense",是说A &C 中equipped 是现在时吗？那是不是意思原来是 appear as ( they are ) equipped...？那么，为什么不是省略了 they were 呢？
既然现在灭绝了，那为什么不能用过去时呢？
