ps.看到and就想平行。但要注意是和什么平行。

OG的解释是 extending 表示一直延续到现在的动作，不是一次性的动作
前面spawn是一次性的，后面extend一直在延续

按照og其他题的解释，使用is是因为这是一种general statement.  fungus is an interworn filigree of mushrooms 就是一种所谓的常识。
