Tuck MBA

Tuck offers a variety of programs and resources to give you a recruiting advantage and help you further your career.

Sector Smarts SeriesDesigned for Tuck students interested in changing careers, Sector Smarts introduces first-year students to a wide range of industries, such as consulting, general management, finance, marketing, technology, biotechnology/healthcare, and nonprofit. Sector Smarts is held in early September.

Tuck Career Advisor Program (TCAP)The Tuck Career Advisor Program for second-year students pairs students with mentors at the highest level of their professions, drawn from Tuck's board of overseers and other senior alumni. The program introduces students to the long-term views of executives who have been through multiple career decisions and market cycles. The mentors provide strategic career advice and serve as sounding boards for tactical job search questions.

Workshops and Career PanelsThroughout the year, the Career Development Office hosts a variety of workshops and panels to educate, prepare, and support you in your job search process. Workshop topics include self-assessment, résumés, cover letters, crafting your story, networking, interviewing etiquette, and international topics. Industry-focused panels, résumé reviews, mock interviews, and networking sessions provide additional hands-on experiences. Experts and visiting executives from various fields and industries share insight and advice through career-related panels and one-on-one office hours.

On-Campus RecruitmentTuck's on-campus recruitment takes place in the fall for second-year students and during the winter for first-year students. Tuck brings companies from a wide range of industries to Hanover to interview students for full-time and intern positions. The majority of on-campus recruiters participate in company briefings prior to the start of on-campus recruitment. Through briefings and other career development events you'll have uncommon access to the many companies that recruit here. To ensure that all students have equal opportunity to interview with their top companies, we require that every company recruiting at Tuck during the on-campus recruiting season reserve at least half its interview slots for assignment through a student bidding process. We also have options for off-campus recruitment that increases access still more. In all, about 700 companies recruit Tuck students.

Company BriefingsTuck hosts a series of company briefings that expose students to different industries, companies and career opportunities. These briefings are a great opportunity to learn more about companies participating in on-campus recruitment. After briefings, companies often host open exchanges, informal "meet-and-greet" sessions where you have the chance to speak individually with employees from the visiting company. Company briefings are held primarily in the fall, before on-campus recruitment begins.

Job PostingsJob postings are opportunities from companies that are interested in Tuck students but may not be coming to campus to interview. These postings represent a diverse mix of companies and industries and are a wonderful resource for students seeking both internships and full-time jobs.

Individual CounselingThe Career Development Office provides one-on-one attention to every student. Students are partnered with an associate director who serves as an industry liaison to the many career-related resources, activities, and events at Tuck. Counseling helps you focus your job search, write a top-notch résumé, improve your interviewing skills, and ultimately maximize your placement options. Tuck's career development office also extends well beyond graduation, supporting graduates who are contemplating a change in firms or industries.

Club TripsThroughout the year, student clubs travel to industry hubs across the U.S. and in Asia to meet with leading companies. The Finance Club takes an annual trip to Wall Street, the Consulting Club visits top firms in Boston, the Technology Club travels to high tech companies in the Silicon Valley and Boston, the Healthcare clube visits a wide range of firms in San Francisco and Boston, and the Asia Business Club helps coordinate a club trip to Asia. All clubs are encouraged to plan industry trips based on student interest. These visits help students target industries and network with companies for summer internships and full-time jobs.

Networking ConnectionsNetworking opportunities abound for Tuck students. Since the alumni database is open to students, you'll be able to contact any Tuck graduate. You'll have many ways to make strong connections with the corporate world, through such avenues as visiting executives, the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship, company briefings, alumni panels, Tuck's research centers, club trips, and more.

The Maynard Entrepreneurial Internship ProgramThe Maynard Program provides students with summer intern opportunities and workshops to experience first-hand the particular challenges and rewards of entrepreneurial ventures. Through Tuck's Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship, select students are eligible to receive an additional stipend while interning at dynamic startups with revenue under $50 million and/or fewer than 200 employees.

Nonprofit Internship Support: Tuck GIVESThe Tuck Nonprofit club holds an annual fundraising event to help make nonprofit internships financially possible. Funds from the Tuck GIVES (Grants to Interns and Volunteers for the Environment and Society) auction enable students to pursue internships in the nonprofit sector.

Tuck Nonprofit Fellows ProgramTuck nonprofit fellowships provide mentoring and network support and financial assistance to graduating Tuck students who take positions with qualifying nonprofit or public sector organizations. While separately funded, the Nonprofit Fellows Program extends the internship support provided by Tuck and complements Tuck's programmatic and coursework in the nonprofit sector.
