The Washington Post 不是所有格形式. 所有格形式是诸如: my/mine, Mary's ..... publisher of The Washington Post 是表示所有格的短语。

publisher 是个人,不能用it指代,从逻辑上看it指代post最合理

所以说那个“绝对错误”不成立（Tony总结的呀），只要合理就可以指代了。我以后再发现例子，再补充。

可以 看看国外 的 语法书 。我查了下，在所有格的内容里 没有 短语。因为所有格是指代词，是作为一个整体 的 word,所以所有格（代词）不包括名词短语形式。
