I can't explain... Someone else here should be able... I guess estimate would be the predicate and there omits a to before range, with range as a verb... But in my point, the articles in B.W. are not necessarily built in the so-called "formal written English", which is recommended by ETS. B.W. is a good reading material, but not necessarily the best STUDYING material. We've got OG, GWD, Tianshan... All of them are better, at least for grammatical study... The sentence here, for example, has some major flaws: 1. The subject of expect is Japan, and the expect should be expects. 2. The evidence is thin... Japan... expects anemic growth is illogical: the anemic has negative meaning, and therefore cannot be logically used with thin. 3. The awkward estimates and range: were my explanation accurate, there should be a that after expect and a to before range... Both of two points are serious issue... in the logics of ETS. |
