我觉得这个解释有点乱来。

 

关键点不在于这个上面。

 

当然加上its，那么根据 Pronoun-Subject一致原则，Limbs只可能是sloths。

 

但不加 我不认为是大问题、

关键是后半句 its coat and between its toes. 与前面的Verb，Pronoun-Verb的Agreement不对

泛指一类的名词，要不全部单数。后面用it/its

 

要不全部用复数，后面用they。

 

如果想表示其中一个，前面复数，后面用one

 D中不加its也可以判断，limbs不是trees的，因为如果要指代trees，必须用复数

感觉答案并没有特别注重这一点，这算是一个更优选择吧，有的话更好，没有的话也
