08第一面－Yale
Yale的面试是我今年第一面，那自是不敢大意，从着装到问题都好好考虑了一遍。
着装：西装一套。本以为会over－dress，结果到那人人都是领带，女的都是白衬衣加黑西装。还好over－dress了
行程：Yale的interview应该算是学校中安排得比较好的。没去以前就可以和student ambassadors 联系，了解一下学校。到的当天，学生答疑，老师答疑，跟学生吃饭，campus tour，和class visit。一天都安排得满满的，下午4点才结束。可惜我为了赶飞机，12点就跑了， 错过了很多节目。
Interview Question：
面试的是个二年级的学生，nice，健谈，帅哥一个。临场的时候背的答案一个也没用上，完全的conversational，也过得去。只不过interview的房间小小的有点别扭。 问题：
Why MBA
Why Yale
Why this undergraduate, and why this major?
Why this graduate school (I happen to have another Master degree)
short-term and long-term career goal
What's the biggest challenge and excitement in your job?
回来给他回thank－you note 的时候，发现他的thank－you email 已经抢先一步了。
回头想想，还是有很多可以improve的。 不过面过了就没什么可多想的了。谋事在人，成事在天了。(still, secretly keeping my fingers crossed)

说正题：

首先表达一下我对Yale的敬仰。我发现很多人都一样，等到准备面试（比如像我这次是面试以后），才居然发现，原来自己盲目申请的学校是比自己一直以来人为的更加的NB。哥大法律系毕业的律师姐姐亲口对我说：比起哥伦比亚，我觉得还是Yale好。我晕掉。
神阿，我快快的发面经，你也快快的给我发offer哈。
到现在还是很激动，真的，能有机会和哥大+Yale毕业的姐姐面对面嗑英语！我觉得我最大的错误就是说得太快，结果姐姐误以为我英语极好，于是和我说话也奇快无比。俄地神阿，人家是律师耶。我疯了。我得竖起耳朵才能保证自己不说excuse me。

我说 食品和酒，然后说我自己喜爱烹调，姐姐说：恩很好，我还以为你要说你酗酒。
其实我觉得姐姐非常幽默，包括她说她不喜欢哥大和她喜欢耶鲁时候的表情，包括她觉得我英语讲得太快对我说：我给你一分钟把，你深呼吸一下。我晕阿。

表现一般，过分亢奋。越来越喜欢Yale。老有个性的一个学校啦。

READING COMPREHENSION
how many times did you take gmat?
what's your major area of study in college?
somthing about politics? (我看了半天，不知道怎么写，胡乱写了，感觉完了，本人对政治超不感兴趣，）
送我走的时候她说你今天请假了，还是现在回去上班，我想我这么郁闷，还是请假算了，本来打算回去上班的，但还是和她说我回去上班了。觉得准备了很多东西没说全，挺冤枉的。老天保佑我能拿到OFFER。
希望这些东西对后来人有用哦。。。

Yale Shanghai Hub Interview
面试官感觉还不错，不过听她说是才到上海，时差还没有导过来呢，看着是挺累的，我面试的时间是下午两点半，美东时间晚上一点半！

同情一下我后面进来那位MM，hehe

1, What did you do for fun when you were in high school?
2, Why did you choose your college and major?
3, What surprised you most after you entered college?
4, Why did you choose your current job?
5, What would your supervisor describe you in five words?
6, Why MBA?
7, Why Yale?
8, Where do you plan to stay after MBA, US or China?
9, What is your biggest accompliment so far?

Basically, it's about questions on your resume following a chronological order. Nothing too tough.

然后完了是一个简单的回答问题的环节，不过她告诉我这一部分是Reading Comprehension，我还有点纳闷，以前大家都说的是short essay，想着应该是测试现场写作的能力，不过听她这么说，就只能理解成能不能看懂题的意思吧！

1, what is your TOEFL score？
2, what are the given names of your recommenders?
3, Do you think the current US economic crisis will affect the development of BRIC?

For the last question, I think they want to test whether you know about subprime crisis and the term BRIC. But Damn, I forgot to mention about the other three countries!
更新：看到Sonia的问题里面提到关于Club的问题，想起来面试官也问过我知不知道Yale的什么club，我诚实地回答不知道，现在想想这可能是他们衡量Loyalty的一个重要参考吧！希望后面面试的朋友注意下这点。

Yale R2 Interview @ 台北
I had an alumni interview with an alumna in Taipei 101 this morning,
The interview went very smoothly, it took 1.5 hours.
It just like a chat between two close friends. I really had a great time talking with her
The questions are very typical:
1. please walk me through your resume.
2. Why MBA? Why now? Why Yale? ( we spent pretty much time on this section)
3. Shor term/ Long term career goal ( discuss in detail)
3. Have you ever initiated something? Tell me about your experience.( activity/group/program)
4. Contribution to Yale community?
5. Strengths/Weaknesses
6. Community service experience.
7. Greatest achievement
As a Yale alumna, she also gave me her experience when she went abroad and faced culture shock,
After the interview, we chatted about her jobs after Yale SOM,
her club experience, and the efforts she made to get a job after graduation,
I enjoy talking with her., such a sweet and nice girl

A few thoughts on Yale Interview
Flew to New Haven for interview last week.

Campus visit: Extremely well-organised. Tour guides were really nice and helpful. Attended two classes as well (on social venture and operations). Great lively atmosphere in class.

Interview: w/ 2nd yr student. Standard questions re: resume (a few "why" questions which naturally came out of the details of the resume), why mba and why yale. No curve balls at all. Interviewer super nice - talked at length about his exciting moments of yale. 30 minutes passed quickly...

In general - I really feel that yale is a people-oriented place. Very Friendly - I am probably the nth person saying it here. Campus visit is esp. recommended if time permits. It would give u more feel about the school...

Beside typical yale questions,

1) what you did for fun in high school?

2) thesis/project for undergraduate school?

3) Five words describe you by your boss?
