我想问一下，原文中说the bacterium thrives in the presence of a certain virus，implying that it is actually the virus that causes the new disease.表明:virus-->bacterium-->the new disease,并没有说是virus alone导致的diease.

选项B中The virus has been shown to aid the growth of bacterium，和原文中一样都提到了virus和bacteruim的关系。

而答案C中The virus alone has been observed in many cases of the disease.却并没有说明virus和bacteruim的关系，也没有说明virus是导致diease的主要因素。
