求教一道GWD语法！！！！

这题为什么答案是E呢？前面没有出现BE动词 为什么比较要补出BE动词呢？

这里后半句省了主语，speeds。。应该补足就是alliance would enable ..at

speeds higher than (speeds) are currently possbile.

因为主语相同，就省略了。。只留下谓语和表语。。

同意楼上的，顺便说下其他选项的错误

A. speeds 是复数，所以 应该than are

B。  speeds that are much higher  ( n+ that + be + adj结构，罗嗦）

C. as 错！ as much/many as..

D. 我觉得如果用 that, 指代？ 不知道， 具体说不清。。 如果把that 改为those , 后面再加are，变成 than those are 不知道对伐，those 指代 speeds.

所以只有E乐

我的意思是 前面那个speed前面没有Be动词修饰 为什么than后面就可以补出Be动词呢？
