AWA:

Argument: 说commuter is exeeding the company’s projection….

Issue: Contant innovation and change are as damage as impove for oranization

MATH

1.

a. (x+y)^2+ (x+y)-1=0

在30年大萧条前,美国government, labor unions等支持conservative protection of trade。

Sampling programs are a significant element of the promotions mix, particularly in the food category. In this research, the authors find that the degree to which consumers are distracted while sampling a product can influence the effectiveness of such programs. In particular, the authors find that distraction actually increases subsequent choice of the sampled food, a finding that is contrary to what industry experts predict. The authors propose a dual-process model of somatosensory experiences to account for the findings. In line with the model, the findings suggest that the ultimate pleasure that a consumer derives from the taste of a food sample depends on two components, an informational component and an affective component. Furthermore, the findings suggest that distraction affects the subsequent choice of the sampled item by increasing (decreasing) the impact of the affective component (informational component) on subsequent choice.

distraction、
impact affect
informative component and affective component

Pain reseach (好像是reseach,这个pain另我很费解,现在也不懂,作者说“we made pain reseach of three points, and two points balblabla…)
subsequent purchase (有题好像是问什么能影响subsequent purchase)

第一题:elephant seals and xxx seals 和harbor seals 的区别

The maternal strategy evolved by

harbor seals may have to do with their

small size and the large proportion of their

fat stores depleted in lactation. Harbor

seals are small compared with other phocids

(35)               species such as grey seals, elephant seals and xxx seals(划线部分为新内容并出题)

(36)               all of which

are known to fast for the entire lactation

period. Studies show that mother seals of

these species use respectively 84 percent,

58 percent, and 33 percent of their fat

(40)        stores during lactation. By comparison,

harbor seals use 80 percent of their fat

stores in just the first 19 days of lactation,

even though they occasionally feed during

this period. Since such a large proportion

(45)        of their fat stores is exhausted despite

feeding, mother harbor seals clearly cannot

support all of lactation using only energy

stored before giving birth. Though smaller

than many other phocids, harbor seals are

(50)        similar in size to most otariids. In addition,

there is already some evidence suggesting

that the ringed seal, a phocids species that

is similar in size to the harbor seal, may

also use a maternal foraging strategy.

“By comparison,

harbor seals use 80 percent of their fat

stores in just the first 19 days of lactation,

even though
   they
   occasionally feed during this period.”

“elephant seals and xxx seals occasionally feed during this period”这是个陷阱,记得排除掉

The author of the passage mentions ringed seals most probably in order to

The primary purpose of the passage is to

According to the passage, until recently zoologists believed which of the following about all phocids mothers?

内容主题题:我选的make clear the reason why Chines woman different with British women

问4 题目有一个事实题,问true about women in China

SC:

….languages of England more comparable than that of other countries.

选项

A more comparable than that of

B more comparable than those of

C is more likely being comparation than that of

148. India, like Italy and China, has no single dominant cuisine:  Indian food comprises many different styles of cooking, with each a product of their regional influences, from the fiery vegetarian dishes of the south to the Portuguese-influenced Goan cooking of the west, to the more familiar Mogul food of the north. D

A. with each a product of their

B. with each as a product of its

C. each products of their

D. each a product of

E. each products of

CR:

GWD5-Q20: (D)

Scientists typically do their most creative work before the age of forty.  It is commonly thought that this happens because
aging by itself brings about a loss of creative capacity.  However, studies show that a disproportionately large number of the scientists who produce highly creative work beyond the age of forty entered their field at an older age than is usual.  Since by the age of forty the large majority of scientists have been working in their field for at least fifteen years, the studies’ finding strongly suggests that the real reason why scientists over forty rarely produce highly creative work is not that they have simply aged but rather that they generally have spent too long in a given field.

In the argument given, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

The first is the position that the argument as a whole opposes; the second is an objection that has been raised against a position defended in the argument.

The first is a claim that has been advanced in support of a position that the argument opposes; the second is a finding that has been used in support of that position.

The first is an explanation that the argument challenges; the second is a finding that has been used in support of that explanation.

The first is an explanation that the argument challenges; the second is a finding on which that challenge is based.

The first is an explanation that the argument defends; the second is a finding that has been used to challenge that explanation.

是关于rare species & common species of bird

说在赤道地区rare species 比common ones tend to live longer, while regardless the wet environment or frequent fire.
