刘振民的书 E7-37. The book pick (C); but is it a problem to put "armed" after "Hungary"?
I think (B) is better, what do you think?

B中they were only armed是冗余表达，不如C好。

BY USING A COMMA, Choice B MAKES TWO COMPLETED SENTENCES, "BEGUN...,AND THEY WERE.... "
CHOICE C, AVOIDS THIS PROBLEM BY USING  TWO NOUN PHRASES ," TRAVALING....ARMED....."

APRILSKY个人认为选项B并没有什么错误，只是选项C用词组作为修饰成分较为炼洁。
C中，...TRAVELING THE BACK ROAD OF HUNGARY ARMED (逻辑关系上，此处ARMED的修饰对象只能是人，BELA AND ZOOLTAN)
